About Me
I’m a pediatric cardiologist specializing in fetal cardiology and cardiac imaging at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. I’m honored to care for children with heart disease, starting even before birth, and be a part of their journey throughout childhood and adolescence.
As a fetal cardiologist, I diagnose and treat all forms of congenital heart disease and arrhythmias before birth. I collaborate with OBGYN and maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialists in the management of high-risk pregnancies.
As an advanced cardiac imager, I also specialize in all modalities of echocardiography (transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography) and cardiac MRI. I’m passionate about multi-modality cardiac imaging and take a holistic approach in the care of children with heart disease.
Being a doctor allows me to combine my love for science and technology with my desire to serve patients. Witnessing the resilience of children solidified my dedication to the field of pediatric cardiology. Every patient I care for receives the same dedication and attention that I would want for my own child.
In addition to patient care, clinical research has been an integral part of my career.
My research interests include (i) assessment of ventricular function using advanced imaging techniques such as speckle tracking echocardiography, three-dimensional echocardiography, myocardial tissue characterization using cardiac MRI, and (ii) prenatal diagnosis of coarctation of aorta. I serve as a reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed pediatric cardiology journals and as an associate editor for the Journal of Progress in Pediatric Cardiology. I’m an affiliate assistant professor of Pediatric Cardiology at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.
