About Me
I am a radiation oncologist at Memorial Cancer Institute, where I’ve specialized in the care of patients with breast cancer and gynecological malignancies for more than 25 years. I am specially trained in brachytherapy, a type of internal radiation therapy, and initiated the programs for this type of treatment for patients with prostate and breast cancer at Memorial.
I was motivated to pursue a career in medicine because of my desire to help people, especially those battling cancer. I gravitated toward radiation oncology because it allowed me to harness the latest technological innovations to enhance their prognosis.
Developing trust and a positive rapport are very important when caring for patients. I walk patients through their radiation treatment, explaining why and how it works and what they can expect every step of the way. I also do my best to understand their fears, worries and anxiety toward a new therapy like radiotherapy.
I am also involved in clinical trials at Memorial, bringing cutting-edge treatments to South Florida patients. My research interests focus on gynecological and breast cancers.
