About Me

Chief, Endocrine Surgery

I am a board-certified surgical oncologist at Memorial Healthcare System, specializing in endocrine surgery for the parathyroid, thyroid and adrenal glands. With fellowship training in general surgery and surgical endocrine oncology, I bring extensive experience in treating complex endocrine conditions and a commitment to advancing surgical approaches that prioritize precision, innovation, and enhanced outcomes.

I earned my medical degree from New York University and completed a seven-year general surgery residency at Northwestern University, where I also conducted two years of research on molecular endocrine messaging. To further refine my expertise, I pursued two additional years of subspecialty training in surgical endocrine oncology at City of Hope National Medical Center in Los Angeles.

In 2001, I moved to South Florida to serve as director of Surgical Oncology at North Broward Medical Center. Later, I became chairman of the Department of Surgery at Imperial Point Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Since 2003, I have also had the privilege of educating future surgeons as an assistant professor of surgery at Nova Southeastern University.

I have a particular passion for minimally invasive techniques in endocrine surgery, which allow for better outcomes and faster recovery for my patients. In 2005, I was honored to collaborate with an imaging endocrinologist to pioneer the nation’s first integrated endocrine surgical practice. This innovative approach has transformed patient care by combining surgical and imaging expertise, making it more precise and effective. In 2011, the imaging specialist and I joined Memorial, where we continue to focus on advancing endocrine surgery and care.
